Saluda, N.C. - Anne Ramsey Browning, 72, of Columbia Street, Saluda, NC, wife of Albert "Bert" S. Browning, III, died peacefully Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at her home. Born in Asheville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Mack E. and Georgia Culbertson Ramsey and was a graduate of Lee Edwards High School, Asheville, NC and UNC, Asheville. She was first married to Gerald S. Echols. Mrs. Browning was in Real Estate and was a Senior Underwriter for Browning Title from 1981 until 2000. She moved to Saluda in 2000 from Hendersonville, NC. Mrs. Browning was a member of the Episcopal Church of Transfiguration, Saluda, NC. Surviving beside her husband are: a son, Daniel David Echols of Asheville, NC; a daughter, Anne Elizabeth Echols Keoleian of Clemmons, NC; a half-sister Betty Darr of Asheville, NC and three grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009 in the Episcopal Church of Transfiguration, Saluda, NC with Vicar Norma Hanson officiating.
