Obituary

Columbus, NC - Anna Ruth Means, 79; of Windwood Drive, Columbus, NC died Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Born in Spartanburg, SC on June 30, 1930 Anna was the only child of Ruby Nash Brooks of Tryon, NC and the late Elder Willie Brooks. She was a past member of the Ebenezer AME Zion Church in Baltimore before moving to Columbus, NC as well as a member of the King Solomon Lodge: Naomi Chapter of the Eastern Star in Baltimore, MD. Surviving are: four sons, Robert E. Means, Jr. (wife-Sarah) of Wise, VA; Samuel B. Means (wife-Rhonda) of Mt. Wolf, PA; Laurence D. Means, Sr. (wife-Sheila) of Bowie, MD; and Aaron R. Means, Sr. (wife-Sheila) of Mc Allister, OK; two daughters, Sandra A. Means and Bonny L. Mallya (husband-Walter) both of Baltimore, MD; a cousin Ruby Williams of District Heights, MD; 19 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.Services are planned for Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Trinity AME Zion Church, 1006 Main Street, Delta, PA 17314.Mrs. Means will be sent to the William C. Brown Funeral Home-Baltimore, MD for burial in the Western Cemetery, Baltimore, MD. (scheduled for Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 2:30 p.m.)Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Hospital, 101 Hospital Drive, Columbus, NC 28722 or to the charity of your choice.
