Here is some information that may be of interest to many members of the community.
Ann Garneau, 24 year resident of The Cliffs of Glassy, has passed away after a long struggle with a failing heart. Ann died the evening of April 2 with, Mike, her husband of 44 years, all three of her children and one of her daughters-in-law able to comfort her to the end.
Her two sons, Greg and Jeff, and daughter Michelle along with daughter-in-law Belia were at Greenville Memorial Hospital at Ann's bedside. The other spouses, Joe (husband of Michelle) and Julie (wife of Greg) prayed from the home front in central Wisconsin. Completing her contribution to the Garneau family tree is her proud title of "Grandma" to 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
At Glassy, many people will remember Ann as former President of the Homeowners Association and for her work to support our volunteer Fire Department. Ann asked that all who may be interested send donations to the Glassy Fire Department in lieu of flowers. They have been of tremendous assistance to her (and husband Mike) over the years.
Over more years than Ann liked to remember, she grew up in Maywood, IL and graduated from Proviso High School. She went to work for Illinois Bell Telephone Co., starting as a teller in the Business Office and retiring as a District Manager with parent company AT&T, capping a 33 year career.
Ann didn't like funerals, so there will be none. Instead, there will be a Celebration of her life in a few months, after the dust settles. An announcement will follow after we get our act together.
