Ann Hancock Packard Davey passed away peacefully in her sleep at White Oak Manor in Tryon, North Carolina on September 16, 2026.
She was born in Orange, New Jersey on March 24, 1949, and was the daughter of Henry Darrach Packard and Jane Oliphant Packard of Tryon. Ann worked at B. Altman and Company in Short Hills, New Jersey, Waccamaw Pottery in Spartanburg, South Carolina and South Carolina Elastic in Landrum, South Carolina. Ann was a long-time resident of Landrum, South Carolina, where she lived with her close friend, Tammy Price.
She was a person who never met a stranger and always did her best to make people smile and laugh. She was a lover of animals, especially cats and was always willing to take in a stray who needed help.
She is survived by two brothers, Bradford Packard of Tryon and Reverend Laurence Kent Packard of Fairfax, Virginia.
Her cremains will be interred in the Memorial Gardens at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Tryon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Foothills Humane Society.
