TRYON, NC - Alice Dinkeloo Jones, of Tryon, NC died Sunday, January 7, 2007 in Saluda, NC at the age of 99. She was the widow of Philip W. Jones who died in 1988. She was a graduate of Northwestern University, honored with an appointment to the advisory council of Northwestern University Foundation. She was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. After graduating, she worked for a number of years at National Broadcasting Company in Chicago.Mrs. Jones moved to Tryon with her husband from Franklin, MI in 1971. For the past twenty years, she has been a resident of Oak Hill Apartments. In Tryon, she was a member of Green Blades Garden Club and Tryon Antiques Club. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jantje Jones Burch, a granddaughter, Kathryn Burch Hutson, a grandson, James Barrett Burch, and a great granddaughter, Taylor Elizabeth Hutson. No local services are planned. Burial will be alongside her husband in the Columbarium of Kirk in the Hills, Bloomfield Hills, MI, where they were church members. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
