Obituary
Tryon, NC- Dan Trumble, 84, passed away on November 1, 2023. He was the son of the late Alex D. and Geraldine Killewald Trumble, and brother of the late Sally Ninos of the Town of Tonawanda.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 62 years, Barbara Stanley Trumble and sons, Alex D. Trumble III of Tryon, North Carolina and E. Blair (Kristine) Trumble of San Diego. He is survived by six grandchildren: Justin and Taylor of San Diego, and Austin, Madison, Xander and Savannah of North Carolina. He is also survived by two cousins, Bill Killewald of Lockport, and Frank "Biff" Trumble of Buffalo.
Dan was student body president (1957) and a basketball standout at Kenmore (West) High School, attended Amhurst College and a 1962 graduate of Syracuse University. He was a San Diego newspaper reporter and creative director for six advertising agencies, five in Chicago and one in Winston-Salem, NC, and Manager of Midwest Promotional Programs for Honeywell Information Systems in Chicago.
He was active in the Kenmore West Alumni Association, National Audio Theater, several community theaters and wrote 13 e-published novels. He was a member of the Tryon Congregational Church and formerly of the Kenmore United Methodist Church.
Per his wishes, no services will be held.
Memorials may be made to local animal shelters or to Four Seasons Hospice in Hendersonville, NC.
