INMAN, SC - Alex Ray Pitts, 66, of Inman, SC passed away Wednesday morning, March 20, 2013 in the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, SC.Born in Boone, NC, he was the son of the late Herman and Leoda Parlier Pitts. Mr. Pitts was a self employed carpenter and an avid carp fisherman. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Pitts; two sisters, Pauline Lambert and Mae Pitts.Surviving is his wife of 23 years, Kathy Wilson Pitts; one son, Lee Pitts of Boiling Spring, SC; three daughters, Reba Upton and Jamie McSwain both of the Landrum, SC and Nancy McDowell of Inman, SC; two brothers, Rev. Ray Allison of Roebuck and Gerald Pitts of Campobello, SC; three sisters, Elizabeth Blackwell and Irene Pettit both of Campobello, SC and Brenda Blackwell of Chesnee, SC. Also surviving are nine grandchildren.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC with Rev. Ray Allison and Rev. Eddie Brown officiating.At other times, the family will be at the home.
