Alex Clifford Brazell, 65, of Columbus, NC, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at his home.Born in Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late John Hallman Brazell and Barbara Prince Brazell. He has been a resident of Columbus for the past 20 years, coming from Spartanburg. Alex retired from Milliken Cotton Blossom after over 30 years of service. Alex was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Manning Brazell, who died in 2013.He is survived by one son, Kris Brazell, of Gray Court, SC; one brother, Mike Brazell (Mechelle) of Woodruff, SC; two sisters, Beth Short (Robert) of Campobello, SC, and Cindy Frey (Jody) of Campobello, SC; one grandson, Dashiell Brazell, of Gray Court, SC; and many nieces and nephews.A funeral will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC, with Rev. Bruce Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, NC. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Following the service, the family will be at the home of Beth and Robert Short in Campobello, SC.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Foothills Humane Society, P.O.
