Addie Lee Lawter Wilson, 96, of Sunny View, passed away, Thursday evening, March 21, 2019 at her home.A native of Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Fie Dillie Lawter and Daisy Ann Ruff Owensby Lawter and widow of Leroy Wilson who passed away in 1979. Mrs. Wilson was well known as a chairmaker and quilter. She was a member of Mtn. View Baptist Church.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Buford Lawter and Ealey Owensby; two sisters, Florence Ruff and Etta Ruff; one son, Charlie Wilson and a cousin raised in the home, Hurbert Lawter.Surviving are two daughters, Dorothy Faye Wilson of the home and Kathleen Collins (William) of Sylva; three grandchildren, Christopher Collins, Hannah Collins and Olivia Collins. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 24, 2019 in Coopers Gap Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Hollifield and Rev. Charlie Jackson officiating.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
