Addie B. MetcalfMill Spring, N.C. - Addie Bradley Metcalf, 88, formerly of Mill Spring, NC died Tuesday, August 01, 2006 in the Hospice House in Forest City, NC. Born in Polk County, NC she was the daughter of the late William Dave and Julie Willis Bradley. She was a member of Big Level Baptist Church in Mill Spring, NC, and was the widow of Elbert Metcalf who died in 1990. Surviving are: four daughters, Inez Hudson, Winnell Bailey and Rachel Hodge all of Mill Spring, NC and Lucille Greene of Myrtle Beach, SC; three sons, Sanford Metcalf and Andy Metcalf both of Mill Spring, NC and Hubert Metcalf of Columbus, NC. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by 7 sisters, one brother, and a son, R. C. Metcalf who died in 1942. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2006 in Big Level Baptist Church in Mill Spring, NC with Rev. Tim Metcalf and Rev. Robert Orr officiating. Burial will be in Big Level Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC. Mrs. Metcalf will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Inez Hudson, 130 Edgerton Rd., Mill Spring, NC.
