MILL SPRING, NC – Jerry Glenn Greene, 64, of Mill Spring, NC passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 at his home after a period of declining health.

Born in Polk County, NC, he was the son of the late Claude and Beulah Blanton Greene and husband of the late Ruby Painter Greene. Mr. Greene retired from CYP, Tryon, NC due to health problems. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Greene enjoyed spending time with people.

Surviving are two brothers, Charles Greene (Carolyn) of Mill Spring, NC and Donnie Greene (Jean) of Columbus, NC; one sister, Pat Plumley of Gowensville, SC; three step children, Wilma, Bunny and Janet. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Billy Armachain; two sisters, Virginia Greenway and Brenda Melton; two brothers, Donald Greene and Bobby Greene, Sr.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012 in the Mill Spring First Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Melton and Rev. David Bame officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.
